In 1992, David Childress was stationed at Shaw AFB with the United States Air Force. David spent the next four years at Shaw where he began building a respectable and accomplished military career. During his four year enlistment he completed training and graduated from USAF Survival School, USAF Water Survival School, and USAF Arctic Survival School in addition to working as an Aircrew Life Support Technician. He was assigned this position with the 21st and 55th A-10 Fighter Squadrons.
Upon completing this service to our country, David began work in the electrical distribution industry in 1996. Over the course of the next 18 years he proved himself a valuable employee and climbed the ladder from delivery driver to Industrial Customer Service Representative to Industrial Outside Sales Representative. Also during this time, in December of 2009, David chose to reconnect with his military roots and joined the Air Force Reserve working as an Aerial Port Transportation Specialist with the 81st Aerial Port Squadron at Charleston AFB. In January of 2015 he became a valued member of our team at I&M Industrials where we hope to have him in our ranks for many years to come.
A resident of South Carolina since 1992, David has built a life here and is usually found working hard to support that life. When he does find downtime he enjoys golf, travel to new or unknown places, and taking in Major League Baseball games. David’s real joy, though, lies in family time. His greatest hobby is lending his support to his daughter, Lillian, in her competitive gymnastics career.
